I recently spent the night at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge located in the Western Cape region of South Africa. Buffelsdrift is a private reserve offering a bushveld experience complete with comfortable tent-style lodging. 

I spent the morning viewing elephants and other wildlife from a perch overlooking a lake with a snow-capped mountain backdrop. It was a pristine moment. However, upon checkout, I was jerked back into reality. A placard on the counter read:
