It’s About Relationships

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 by Neil Berman

Couples RetreatI watched Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman in the comedy 'Couples Retreat' this weekend. The comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. What follows is a hilarious look at real world relationship problems faced by all couples. Although the film was so-so it led the box office gross this last weekend.

That’s telling. Other people’s relationship problems may be a comfort to watch. We’re not alone.

Most people enter into personal relationships with the best of intentions, assuming that they will remain in a stable situation. Unfortunately, it is not always the case. Many relationships degrade in quality over time. Many people discover that it is, in fact, difficult to keep a relationship alive and well. It takes work and mental flexibility that not everyone is willing or able to offer.

Is it much different in a business setting?

How many people stay with a single employer for more than seven years?  How many people like their jobs? Like their bosses? Admire their employer’s business principles?

Customer attrition in many industries is 20% per year. Why do they leave? Does anyone ask?

Here at Delivra we act with client and staff relationships as our focus. We are bound by sound ethics and act in the best interest of our Clients. We are determined to have openness and candor with our clients and each other. We make personal commitments and take responsibility for completing them.

We take our Clients' concerns and needs seriously. We practice good listening, give and take honest feedback and develop one-to-one relationships that are built on "win-win" principles. Our core success metric is Client Satisfaction.

We are passionate about nurturing staff talent and innovation. Our focus is to continue to learn and develop our practice, so that we think of creative ways to satisfy our Client needs. We believe in teamwork. We share ideas and goals, and aggressively seek ways to collaborate with each other and to contribute to optimized organization performance.

We believe that nurturing relationships is our ultimate goal. Because in business a "Couples Retreat” is generally too late to save the relationship.
