My April 3, 2012 post related how Southwest Airlines snagged my email address with a clever on-board peanut bag advertisement. See: http://www.delivra.com/blog/neil-berman/how-southwest-airlines-acquires-email-addresses.
Well, after receiving almost daily email promotions (or it seemed like it), I unsubscribed. Really, how often does a person fly? That should be a clue for determining frequency. Or why not just ask me utilizing a profile form?
Moral of the story: Don't burn a new relationship by marketing too aggressively.
We regularly advise our email marketing clients on the importance of frequency. If you are interested in a refresher, give our email marketing consultants a call at 317-915-9400.
