The Multiplier Effect

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 by eMailchatr Delivra Blog

multiplierI have long been a believer in numbers and often the more places you are, the better your exposure will be, right?  This adage has worked well for traditional marketing for years.  But now in a world of instant, web 2.0, and more information than anyone can digest, are more "places" really all that great?  In my mind, it all comes down to ROI-Return, Return, Return!

Not that it's always about the almighty dollar, but it is about reaching your goals.  Are your goals to generate leads?  Solicit donations?  Engage an audience?  Now, once you've identified a goal-seek out the mediums to meet that goal.  Think social media or new technologies won't work?  Let me outline just a few...

Website:  Remember, this should serve as your "hub" to the web world.  This is the place you can showcase who you are, what you do.

Blog:  Probably the single most important item to implement if you want to optimize your organization in search quickly and engage more readers.  Blogs typically garner 3-4 times more traffic.  Why?  Not positive, but I believe the fact that you have content that is rich in keywords and updated frequently (2 things Google seems to like...).  This is where people get to learn from you.

Social Media:  Think of all the previous items as providing a framework for your web, and now with social media, you can enhance that web with sprinklings of keyword rich web content, content intended to engage and convert.  This is where people get to know you.

Woven together, all of these mediums can significantly improve how you are found, how long people stay and engage, and increase the amount of people raising their hand.
